I could not get catdoc to install on my Mac OS X 10.4.6 machine. The 'make install' command would fail. With help from the developer, I worked out that it was because Mac OS X is case insensitive.

Removing the file 'INSTALL' from the catdoc folder allowed me to install catdoc. KnowledgeTree now happily indexes Microsoft Office documents for us.
