Overview

The KnowledgeTree Office 2007 Add-in (Beta) is a plugin for KnowledgeTreeLive and KnowledgeTree on-premise that allows you to access documents stored remotely in KnowledgeTree's Web-based repository, and provides access to KnowledgeTree's revision control system and metadata layer, from within the following Microsoft Office 2007 applications:

  • Word 2007
  • Excel 2007
  • PowerPoint 2007

Installation and Upgrades

Pre-requisites:

  • KnowledgeTreeLive account or KnowledgeTree On-premise
  • Windows client machine
  • Microsoft .Net Framework version 2.0
  • Shut down all Microsoft Office applications
NOTE: If you're upgrading, first uninstall the old version of KnowledgeTree Office 2007 Add-in 
through Add/Remove Programs; then, proceed with this installation.


How to Install KnowledgeTree Office 2007 Add-in

  1. Run setup.exe to install application.
  2. Enter server details when prompted.


Important: The KnowledgeTreeOffice2007AddIn-1.0.0 BETA install package includes three 
files: KB908002, setup.exe, and KnowledgeTreeOffice2007AddInSetup-1.0.0-Beta.msi. You 
must run SETUP.EXE to install KnowledgeTree Tools Office 2007 Add-In. This file installs a 
required Microsoft patch - KB908002  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908002). 
Do NOT run KnowledgeTreeOffice2007AddInSetup-1.0.0-Beta.msi - the patch 
will NOT be installed and the application may fail.
