What is KnowledgeTree Document Workflow Integration (DWI) Service?

The KnowledgeTree Document Workflow Integration (DWI) Service is a Windows Service that allows the automated upload of documents to the KnowledgeTree Document Management System (DMS) via the local file system.

A designated folder on the local file system acts as portal to the KnowledgeTree DMS. The document to be uploaded, along with an XML file detailing its metadata, is saved to this portal folder, where it is processed by the DWI Service. If successful, the document is uploaded to KnowledgeTree DMS, and the document's metadata fields are populated with information extracted from the XML.

Successfully processed documents (and their XML files) are moved to an archive folder, while unsuccessful uploads are moved to a failure folder.

XML files may be created by hand, or by using a third party application that automates the process.

The XML files must comply with the KnowledgeTree DWI Service XML schema, which is documented in the KnowledgeTree Document Workflow Integration (DWI) Service Developers Guide.
