This page contains troubleshooting information for upgrades from any earlier version of KnowledgeTree to KnowledgeTree 3.5.0, and for new installs of KnowledgeTree 3.5.0.

  • Config.ini upgrade
KnowledgeTree 3.5 automatically upgrades the KnowledgeTree config.ini file. Please ensure that you backup the config file as part of your standard
pre-upgrade procedure.

  • Search Index Migration
In the KnowledgeTree 3.5 release we have introduced a new search and indexing engine based on Lucene. Upgrading to KnowledgeTree 3.5 from an older
release involves an automatic search index migration to our new engine. Upon logging in for the first time administrations should notice a new Index
Migration dashlet. The dashlet displays the current progress of the migration procedure.
The initial migration occurs at a default rate of 500 documents per cycle. The number of documents per migration cycle and the frequency of the
cycles may be modified in the config.ini file.

  • Linux Users: Setting up the Cron
When tasks listed on the Scheduler dashlet, which is visible only to the system administrator
on the KnowledgeTree 3.5.x Dashboard, have not been executed in more than 24 hours, an additional
dashlet displays, instructing the administrator to check the cron to determine whether the
scheduler is in the list of cron jobs, and that it is correct. If this is not the case, the
administrator adds the Scheduler to the cron.
